I am showing 10 paintings at Casa Que Pasa in downtown Bellingham for the month of July. The day after installing all the artwork I went out to Bellingham’s Art Walk & First Friday and engaged and interacted with fellow local artists. It was my first time going out in Bellingham. I have gone out to First Thursdays in Portland and really missed the feeling of art makers and enthusiasts roaming the town.

The goal of this body of work is to showcase a series of paintings that demonstrate the power of isolation and solitude. The majority of the paintings were made during the quarantine. The more time I spent by myself tinkering away on the canvas the more my artistic spirit was reinvigorated. We are social creatures by nature however, when we go within ourselves we regenerate the desire to connect with others. I found that the lockdown was an opportunity to grow as an artist and strengthen relationships with my family and loved ones.
